The Aqua Morne boat on flat water off Le Morne at first light

Le Morne · Mauritius

The lagoon, before anyone else is on it.

Private boat trips from Le Morne with Waren and the crew. We leave at first light, we never chase the dolphins, and most mornings you have them to yourselves.

How the day works

Everything here is a question of hour.

Between 07:00 and 09:00 the lagoon belongs to whoever got up. By late morning the day boats reach Crystal Rock. We plan around that gap, every single time.

What we do

Six trips. One boat. Your group only.

Every trip is fully private: you book the boat, not a seat. Six people maximum, never strangers on board.

Most booked Snorkelling with spinner dolphins in clear water off Le Morne

07:00 – 10:00

Morning with the dolphins

Out while the water is still glass. Spinner dolphins on their own terms, sea turtles over the coral, and Crystal Rock before the day boats arrive. Back on land by ten, with the whole day still in front of you.

Best value The boat anchored in the turquoise lagoon

07:00 – 15:00

The day without a watch

The same first-light start, then no reason to turn back. Long swims, lunch cooked on board, and the slow part of the afternoon a three-hour trip never reaches.

Seasonal Open water beyond the reef off the west coast of Mauritius

07:00 – 10:00

Whales offshore

Out past the reef into deep blue water, looking for humpbacks passing through. Wild animals, no guarantees — we watch, we keep our distance, they decide.

Golden hour on board during the sunset cruise

16:30 – 18:00

The last ninety minutes

Le Morne turns gold from the water, and the mountain does something at that hour no photograph has ever managed. Snacks, cold drinks, nowhere to be.

Fishing from the boat in the early morning

07:00 – 08:00 / 09:00

Time on the line

Short, early and quiet. The crew knows where the fish sit at that hour. Good with kids, good with a hangover, good when nothing is planned.

The reef pass at dawn, dropped off for a surf session

05:00 – 09:00

Boat to the break

Dark start, and the spot chosen for the conditions and for how you surf. Experienced surfers get dropped at the pass and collected when they are done. Never stood on a board? The initiation starts in water that forgives, with someone in it next to you.

How we work

The rules we don't break.

We don't chase

Guests keep writing the same thing: respectful with the animals. No engine on top of a pod, no cutting across their line, no dropping six people onto a mother and calf. If they come to you, it is because they chose to.

We know where not to go

There are places in this lagoon a boat has no business being. We know them and we stay out. Looking after the ocean is the reason there is still anything to show you.

We know the water

The crew has been reading these passes for years. That is why guests end up in the water at the right moment instead of watching a fin disappear.

We answer

Messages get replied to. The time we said is the time it is. The boat is where it is meant to be, when it is meant to be there.

Google reviews

Six reviews. Six times five stars.

Who takes you out

The crew.

One boat, no call centre. Waren handles the plan — what time, what weather, what you actually want from the morning. On the water the crew reads it: where the pods are moving, where a boat has no business being, when to put you in and when to wait.

They have spent more mornings out there than most people spend at the beach in a lifetime. You notice fairly quickly that the laughing is not part of a script.

Questions

What people ask first.

Is the boat really private?

Yes. The price shown is for the whole boat for your group, up to six people. You will never share the trip with strangers.

Where do we meet?

The same place every trip — the departure point pinned on Google Maps. We send you the link with your confirmation.

What if the weather turns?

Safety decides, and a rough sea ruins it anyway. We tell you as soon as we know, and if we call a trip off for weather or sea conditions you are refunded in full.

What if we have to cancel?

Cancel a week or more before the trip and you are refunded in full. Cancel the day before and part of it is refunded. If we are the ones cancelling, for weather or sea conditions, you get everything back.

Can we swim with the dolphins?

Usually yes, if conditions and the dolphins allow it. Because we don't chase them and don't drop the whole boat onto a pod, some mornings you watch from on board. Most mornings you are in the water.

Can we bring children?

Yes. The one-hour fishing trip and the sunset cruise are the easiest with small children. Tell us their ages and we adjust the timing.

What should we bring?

A towel, reef-safe sunscreen, something for your head, and a layer for the 05:00 surf start. Masks, snorkels and life jackets are on board.

When can we see whales?

Humpbacks pass Mauritius during the southern winter, roughly July to October. Message us and we will tell you what is around this week.

How do we book and pay?

A WhatsApp message, or an email to [email protected], is enough to hold a date. We confirm the accepted payment methods when we reply.
